Bonus Recommendations
Highly Recommended Addition:
Since ReaPlugs offers professional-grade, free VST plugins, consider adding ReaFir to your selection.
ReaFir
This powerful tool is a supressor that can listen to your background noise and remove it by analyzing and removing unwanted frequencies. Simply add it as a VST filter, set the mode to subtract, click ‘build noise profile’, and disable after 3-5 seconds. It uses very little CPU, especially compared to other supressors.
For Advanced Users:
ReaEQ → Superior equalizer with more precision than OBS’s built-in option
ReaGate → Advanced noise gate with better control than OBS’s default
Step 3: Verification
To verify the installation:
Continue on with the voiceFX setup in MickFX or…
1. Launch OBS Studio
2. Add a VST 2.x Plug-in filter to your microphone source
3. Verify that “reajs” appears in the plugin list along with any additional plugins you selected
Compatible MickFX Effects
MickFX Poof and MickFX Zeus both leverage ReaPlugs for enhanced audio processing capabilities.
If anything goes wrong, whether through the installation process or just by running it PLEASE join the discord and let your woes be known. Otherwise I won’t be able to fix the issue!
