Sometimes you just gotta leave the room. Unfortunately that’s hard to do when you’re streaming, as your stream is the room. This is the solution.

Is the effect not displaying properly? Try restarting OBS. If that doesn’t work, reinstall it and let me know what effect caused issues!

Poof Settings
Frame Mode
Include your webcam frame with the effect.
Framed = Webcam frame included.
Normal = Webcam only.
Reappear Mode
How your webcam reappears. You can choose to have it fade back in, or slide back in.
Voice Mode
Choose to have the VST Reverb applied to your microphone. Needs additional installation, tutorial is down below.
Toggle Mode
Choose automatic (timed) or manual toggle back. Use the effect again to toggle it back.
Frame Mode
Include your webcam frame with the effect.
Framed = Webcam frame included.
Normal = Webcam only
Installation Guide
1. OBS Plugins
Ensure you have the correct plugins needed for MickFX. Use MickFX Plugin Installer to download all with ease.
2. SAMMI
Download SAMMI and connect it to OBS. Make sure you have both OBS and SAMMI bridge dock connected.
3. MickFX Base
Install MickFX Base into SAMMI and follow the instructions on the extension page (in your OBS dock)
4. Install FX
Install the effect file into SAMMI as an extension and then follow the instructions on the extension page.
5. Download the VST Voice Filter (Optional)
Half of what makes MickFX Poof so good is the reverb voice filter it activates when the effect happens. I honestly don’t think the effect is worth it without the voice filter. When downloading the effect, it will offer the VST as an additional installation. You may also download it now if you want. It’s called Dragonfly Hall Reverb.
Optional VST
Dragonfly Hall Reverb – Poof
This is a VST. VSTs are installed differently so click Tutorial for a guide. Dragonfly Hall Reverb is a free and open-source reverb plugin designed for creating realistic reverb effects for your microphone. This is used for the Poof! effect to give it a little bit more depth.
Required OBS Plugins
Advanced Mask
Expands the masking functionalities of OBS by providing filters for users to create highly customized masks for their OBS sources and scenes. Advanced Mask is used by MickFX for webcam cropping and gradient masking.
Move Source
Used to move OBS sources. Can move them instantaneously or in a motion. Move Source is used by MickFX for every single effect.
Source Clone
Lets the user clone sources to allow different filters than the original. Clone is used by MickFX for both the base foundation when using webcam, and for effects.
Technical Requirements
1920 x 1080 Canvas Size
If MickFX pops off I’ll make my effects work on multiple canvas sizes. Right now the calculations only work on 1920×1080.
OBS version 28 or later
Needed for Websocket connection (How SAMMI connects to OBS)
